Lagrein DOC Lindenburg 2021 by Alois Lageder is an intense and complex wine that perfectly reflects the characteristic features of the autochthonous South Tyrolean Lagrein grape variety. This grape, known for its deep, powerful wines, grows excellently in the warm areas of the Bolzano valley basin. The Lindenburg vineyards are located in one of the best locations for Lagrein in South Tyrol and are characterized by deep alluvial soils along the Talfer and Eisack rivers.
The wine has a cherry red color with ruby reflections. The bouquet is intense and complex, characterized by fruity notes such as dark berries, spicy accents, leather and dark chocolate. On the palate, it is full-bodied, lively and rich in tannins, with a bittersweet and fresh aftertaste. This structure and complexity make Lagrein DOC Lindenburg 2021 a wine that combines both elegance and power.
This wine is characterized by its long shelf life, which is supported by careful vinification. The grapes go through spontaneous maceration, sometimes all over the grape, and then mature for several months in large wooden barrels before the wine continues to age in the bottle for about a year. The climate in Bolzano, with warm days and cool nights, promotes the development of lively acidity and intense aromas that make Lagrein so special.
