Description

Château Chauvin 1994 – Saint-Émilion Grand Cru

The 1994 Château Chauvin, from the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru appellation, comes from a classic vintage that now reads beautifully at maturity. The 1994 growing season, marked by gradual ripening and natural balance, produced wines built more on finesse than on power. With age, this Saint-Émilion has evolved harmoniously, offering a serene and accomplished expression of its terroir.

The colour shows an evolved garnet hue with brick tones at the rim, reflecting slow and controlled ageing. The nose is refined and nuanced, opening on ripe red fruits, plum and cherry, before developing tertiary aromas of leather, blond tobacco, forest floor, dried leaves and a subtle truffle note typical of mature Merlot.

On the palate, the wine is supple, delicate and fully integrated. The tannins are completely resolved, supporting a fine and elegant texture with no rough edges. Evolved flavours of red fruit, gentle spices, damp earth and old wood unfold with balance and precision. The finish is long and harmonious, leaving a classic, refined and gentle impression.

A beautifully mature and elegant Saint-Émilion Grand Cru — subtle, harmonious and expressive — ideal for lovers of aged Right Bank Bordeaux seeking finesse, balance and quiet nobility.
