The Aris Cirò Riserva 2020 by Sergio Arcuri is a remarkable red wine from Calabria that embodies the authenticity and tradition of this region. This wine, which is made from 100% the local Gaglioppo grape variety, shows a deep ruby red color in the glass. The bouquet features complex aromas of dried rose petals, dark berries, figs and plums. On the palate, Aris Cirò Riserva is powerful and lively, with excellent acidity, ripe tannins and a long,
intense finish.
The Gaglioppo grape that characterizes this wine is known for its ability to produce wines with strong structure and elegant aromas under the hot climatic conditions of Calabria. Sergio Arcuri’s vineyards are located in the Cirò DOC region, an area that offers ideal conditions for viticulture due to its limestone and clay soils and the Mediterranean climate with hot summers and
mild winters.
The special feature of Aris Cirò Riserva lies in the traditional production and maturation. The grapes come from old vines that are grown according to the Alberello system. The wine is spontaneously fermented in open cement tanks (Palmento) and aged in cement containers for 24 months, followed by a further 12 months in the bottle. This method preserves the purity of the fruit and the characteristic minerality of the wine
.
