The Müller Thurgau IGT Petra 2023 from Röck Winery thrives in the picturesque vineyards of Villanders in the Eisack Valley, at altitudes between 630 and 660 meters. The vines grow on stony quartz phyllite soils, located on steep southeast-facing slopes, imparting a distinctive minerality to the wine. The cuvée consists of 40% Müller Thurgau, 35% Sylvaner, and 25% Riesling, with vines averaging 20 years of age. The harvest took place between September 6 and October 30, 2023, ensuring an optimal selection of grapes. After a gentle pressing, spontaneous fermentation occurred in stainless steel tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation. The wine was aged for 11 months on fine lees in stainless steel tanks and was bottled in August 2024, without fining or filtration. The total sulfur content is approximately 40 mg/l.Petra invites you to be curious, bold, and full of life – an adventure that encourages the connoisseur to fall down the rabbit hole and discover a wonderland of unique aromas and flavors.
