Description
100% Pinot Noir. The Freedom Hill Vineyard is an exceptional vineyard tucked into the southeastern slope of an ancient sedimentary seabed, in the newly created Mt. Pisgah, Polk County AVA in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. The AVA is sheilded by the chilling Van Duzer winds from the west, resulting in a slightly warmer microclimate than the neighboring Eola-Amity Hills. This bottling is made of adjacent 24-year old blocks of Pommard and Dijon Pinot Noir Clones, which are cofermented. The wine opens up with layers of wild raspberry, roasted plum and violets, with hints of earl grey tea and anise in the background. Its silky tannins provide structure, depth, and incredible balance. It truly showcases Freedom Hill’s potential as a vineyard site. We recommend pairing it with a slow roasted duck, served with a roasted fennel bulb and a cashew crema.
