The Vernatsch Fallwind 2024 from the St. Michael-Eppan winery is a fresh, fruity wine made from the autochthonous Vernatsch (Schiava) grape variety. This grape variety, which has been cultivated in South Tyrol for centuries, is known for its light, elegant wines with fine fruit and mild acidity.
The Vernatsch fallwind is bright ruby red. Its scent is characterized by aromas of ripe cherries, red fruits and violets, complemented by subtle almond notes. On the palate, it is soft and elegant, with a pleasant freshness and a hint of bitter almond on the finish.
This wine is characterized by its freshness and elegance, which are promoted by the cool climate and limestone soils of the south-east-exposed vineyards around Appiano. The evening downwinds of the Mendel Mountains ensure cool nights, which give the grapes their aromatic freshness and longevity.
