Description
100% Arneis from Roero-land. We are super excited to be bringing in these wines from Valfaccenda, (organic since 2010 and biodynamic since 2021) a producer extremely proud to be from Roero, a smaller, lesser-known growing region north of the Tanaro river and Barbaresco in Piedmont. Known as the “Little rascal” in the local Piedmontese dialect, Arneis was historically difficult to grow and was planted next to prized Nebbiolo vines to distract birds and other grape-eating pests. Lately though, Roero Arneis is regarded as one of the great white wines of Italy. It is dry and acid-rich, with stone fruit flavors like peach and apricot, with an added elegance from some beautiful floral aromatics. Pair it with Pork Milanese, and throw some canned artichokes, arugula, fennel, capers, and cherry tomatoes on top.
