The Trebbiano d’Abruzzo DOC 2020 from Tenuta Torretta is a white wine that impressively reflects its origin from the picturesque hills of Abruzzo. The wine has a bright straw yellow colour with green reflections. The bouquet is fresh and lively with intense aromas of green apples, citrus and white flowers, accompanied by subtle mineral notes. On the palate, Trebbiano d’Abruzzo is dry and crunchy, with well-integrated acidity, which highlights the fruitiness and results in a long, refreshing finish
.
This wine is made from 100% Trebbiano grapes. Trebbiano, also known as Ugni Blanc, is a widely used white grape variety in Italy, known for its high acidity and ability to produce fresh and fruity wines. It grows particularly well in Abruzzo and produces wines with distinctive minerality and
freshness.
The wine-growing region in Abruzzo benefits from a Mediterranean climate, which is influenced by the proximity to the Adriatic Sea and the Apennine mountain range. This creates ideal conditions for viticulture with hot summers and mild winters. The soils in the Tenuta Torretta vineyards consist mainly of limestone and clay, which gives the wines their characteristic minerality. The growing system of the vines is usually the traditional pergola system, which ensures optimal solar radiation and ventilation of the
grapes.
