The Syrah IGP Aquilae 2019 from Canicattì is an outstanding red wine from the Sicily region. It is made from 100% Syrah grapes grown on sandy-loamy soils in the provinces of Agrigento, Palermo and Caltanissetta. These soils, combined with the Mediterranean climate, which is characterized by hot summers and mild winters, offer optimal conditions for growing this grape variety.
This wine is characterized by its deep red color. On the nose, intense aromas of ripe cherries and strawberries develop, accompanied by subtle spicy notes and a touch of leather and tobacco. On the palate, the wine is velvety and full-bodied with harmonious tannins and a well-balanced acidity, giving it an impressive structure and length.
The special feature of Syrah IGP Aquilae lies in its terroir and careful vinification. After fermentation in small steel tanks and malolactic fermentation, the wine ages for a short time in small French oak barrels before being refined in the bottle for three months.
