The St. Magdalener Classico “Der Pfannenstiel” 2020 from Pfannenstielhof shines in bright ruby red, radiating fruit, finesse and elegance. It is classically composed of 95% Vernatsch (Schiava) and 5% Lagrein, grown together as a traditional field blend on pergolas, rooted in well-ventilated, heat-retaining moraine soils rich in porphyry and dolomite. In the glass, it reveals a bouquet of red berries, fine cherry-almond notes, as well as hints of rosehip, cherry and blood orange. On the palate it is juicy, with mild acidity and velvety tannins, while remaining slender, lively and complex. The name “Der Pfannenstiel” emphasizes the traditional, personal signature of this family estate – authentic, down-to-earth yet modern in style and expression.
