Nals Margreid, Heiligenberger Weg 2, 39010 Nals (BZ), IT
The Sauvignon DOC Stein 2024 from Nals Margreid is a remarkable white wine from South Tyrol, made exclusively from Sauvignon Blanc grapes. This grape variety is known for its fresh and lively aromas, which are often reminiscent of tropical fruits, citrus notes and green herbs. The cultivation takes place on the sun-drenched slopes of Nalles at altitudes of between 330 and 400 meters, which results in an ideal climate for the grapes to ripen.
Stein Sauvignon is typical for its intense scent of elderflowers, bosso and a hint of citrus fruits, such as chinotto and lychee. The color of the wine is bright straw yellow with green reflections, which underlines its freshness. The taste is full-bodied, fresh and pleasantly acidic, with subtle herbal and vegetative properties that flatter the palate.
The name “Stein” refers to the stony terroir of the vineyards in Nalles, which was formed by the alluvial cone of the Sirmian and Nalles streams. This unique terroir contributes significantly to the minerality and structure of the wine.
