Sensory :

From the first sip, Rowan’s Creek reveals a rich bouquet of caramel and vanilla with underlying herbal and floral notes. The nose is greeted by toasted marshmallow and a whisper of spice, adding depth to the sweetness. A smooth, medium-bodied mouthfeel begins oily, transitioning to a dry finish. On the palate, sweet caramel and vanilla are enhanced by raw sugarcane, a gentle oakiness, and unique floral undertones. The sip concludes with lingering spiciness, interwoven with brown sugar and oak for a satisfying, warm finish.

Distiller’s Background:

Rowan’s Creek is produced by the renowned Willett Distillery, originally established in 1935 by the Willett family. Known formally as Kentucky Bourbon Distillers, Ltd. (KBD), Willett took a hiatus from whiskey distillation in the 1970s, focusing briefly on ethanol production, and resumed crafting spirits in 2012. First released in the 1990s, Rowan’s Creek originally bore a 12-year age statement and has since evolved as Willett has transitioned to using its own distillate, a testament to their dedication to quality and heritage. The bourbon takes its name from Rowan’s Creek, which is itself named after John Rowan, a judge and statesman with deep ties to the area.

Serving Suggestions:

Rowan’s Creek shines when served neat or with a single ice cube to subtly open up its flavors. For an enhanced tasting experience, enjoy at around 60–65°F. Pair with roasted nuts, grilled meats, or a slice of caramel pecan pie to highlight its sweet, spicy notes.
