The Pinot Noir DOC “Bachgart Identität” 2022 from Klaus Lentsch Estate is a precise, character-driven Pinot Noir from Alto Adige, capturing both origin and style with remarkable clarity. The name “Bachgart Identität” stands for more than a single vineyard—it represents the idea of bottling the unique identity of this site and the true expression of Pinot Noir in a pure, uncompromising way. In the sunny, terraced hillside vineyards around Appiano, the conditions allow for wines that combine elegance with structure. Founded in 2008, the estate blends traditional roots with a modern commitment to quality, focusing on precision, consistency, and attention to detail throughout the winemaking process. In the glass, “Bachgart Identität” shows a bright ruby red colour—transparent yet intense. Aromatically, it is refined and layered: red berry fruit, sour cherry, and subtle spice come together in an elegant profile, supported by a distinct mineral depth. On the palate, the wine is structured yet smooth, with finely woven tannins, vibrant inner tension, and a clean, focused progression.Ageing in large oak casks helps integrate fruit and structure without overshadowing the wine’s character. The result is a Pinot Noir that brings together the grape’s classic finesse with Alto Adige’s strength and energy—authentic, precise, and long on the finish.
