Pavana in Anfora Cruo 2023 from De Fattore is a unique red wine that perfectly reflects the tradition and terroir of Valsugana in Trentino South Tyrol. The wine has a deep ruby red color. On the nose, it develops intense aromas of red fruits, accompanied by floral notes and a touch of spices. On the palate, the Pavana in Anfora Cruo is full-bodied and well-structured, with lively acidity and soft tannins that result in a long, elegant finish.
This wine is made from the Pavana grape, an old and almost forgotten Valsugana grape variety that was revived by De Fattore. The Pavana grape is known for its ability to produce complex and aromatic wines that reflect the region’s terroir. The grapes are carefully selected and fermented in amphoras, giving the wine extra depth and complexity.
The mild alpine climate with warm days and cool nights as well as the calcareous soils, which give the grapes optimal ripeness and complex aromas, are typical of this wine and the wine-growing zone. The vineyards are cultivated according to the Guyot system, which ensures uniform ventilation and solar radiation of the vines.
