The Pas Dosé Cuvée Novecento 2013 by Contratto is a prestigious vintage sparkling wine from Piedmont, crafted by the historic house Contratto in Canelli. Produced within the renowned Alta Langa DOCG appellation, it follows the traditional Metodo Classico with secondary fermentation in the bottle and extended lees ageing. Contratto is one of Italy’s oldest producers dedicated to high-quality sparkling wines.The Cuvée Novecento 2013 is a vintage (Millesimato) wine and classified as Pas Dosé, meaning no dosage is added after disgorgement. This results in a particularly pure, dry and terroir-focused style. It is based on the classic Alta Langa varieties, Chardonnay and Pinot Nero, which provide elegance, structure and ageing potential. Extended lees maturation enhances complexity and finesse.On the nose, aromas of ripe citrus, yellow apple and white flowers unfold alongside delicate brioche notes; on the palate it is precise, mineral and layered, with vibrant acidity, creamy mousse and a long, dry, saline finish.
