The Spätburgunder Rosé Malterdinger 2022 from Bernhard Huber presents itself in a delicate salmon hue with subtle ruby reflections and impresses with its precise vinification: the grapes are hand-harvested, carefully sorted and gently pressed; fermentation takes place temperature-controlled in stainless steel, partly with extended maceration and fine lees contact – with partial malolactic fermentation in second- and third-use barriques. In the glass, it unfolds a clear, fruity bouquet of grapefruit, raspberry, and rhubarb, complemented by notes of rosehip, subtle yeast aromas, and mineral-peppery nuances. On the palate, this rosé is pleasantly dry and rounded, never coarse or austere. It delights with lively, crisp acidity, a light tannin structure, distinct minerality, and a clean, persistent finish.
