Description
Magnum of Château Haut-Gazeau 1981 – Lussac-Saint-Émilion
The 1981 Château Haut-Gazeau, presented here in magnum format, comes from the Lussac-Saint-Émilion appellation, one of the most renowned satellites of Saint-Émilion. Planted on the typical clay-limestone soils of the Right Bank, the estate produces wines dominated by Merlot, with support from Cabernet Franc.
The 1981 vintage, though less celebrated than some of Bordeaux’s great years, produced balanced, supple, and elegant wines. Thanks to the magnum format, which allows for slower and more harmonious evolution, this wine retains a garnet robe with brick highlights, and a refined bouquet of ripe fruits, dried plum, leather, blond tobacco, and forest floor. On the palate, it charms with velvety texture, mellow tannins, and a persistent finish, reflecting the discreet appeal of mature Lussac-Saint-Émilion.
The 1981 Château Haut-Gazeau Magnum embodies both the character of its terroir and the nobility of large formats, making it a rare bottle that conveys authenticity and elegance.
