The Kalterersee Classic DOC Sea 2024 from Weingut Andi Sölva is an impressive red wine that impresses with its deep, ruby red color and delicate purple reflections. On the nose, a bouquet of ripe cherries, red berries and fine spicy notes unfolds, accompanied by a hint of almond and violet. On the palate, the wine is elegant and harmonious, with mild acidity, soft tannins and a long, persistent finish.
This wine is mainly made from the indigenous Vernatsch grape variety (also known as Schiava), which is known for its light, fruity and aromatic wines. The grapes come from over 100 years old vines from the Pulvernai and Plantaditsch vineyards around Lake Kaltern, which offer ideal growing conditions due to their unique climatic conditions and soils. The name “Sea” refers to Lake Kaltern, which is of central importance for the winery and the region.
