Description
The name of the distillery is “Destileria Hacienda La Esperanza” and has been in the same family since it was built in 1884. It was mostly destroyed in the Guerra de Los Cristeros by the Mexican Government pursuing an associate of Pancho Villa who was staying there. It was rebuilt and tequila production began in 1925. Our Weber Blue agaves are grown in the higher altitude red earth of Los Altos de Jalisco where there is more water than in the lowlands resulting in sweeter pina notes. A traditional coa is used to harvest, trim, and to split the pinas in the field by hand.
