Description
- Rowanberry eau-de-vie produced by Hans Reisetbauer in Axberg, Austria
- Distilled from wild-harvested rowanberries sourced from the Mühlviertel region of upper Austria at over 700 meters above sea level, as well as from the Czech Republic
- Rowanberries are harvested in autumn and undergo a 12-day fermentation at 18.5 °C (65 °F)
- Distilled twice in a Christian Carl copper pot still
- Rested for a minimum of 3 years in stainless steel
- Earthy and floral with notes of cherry, almond, angelica root, and horseradish with faint allspice on the nose; the palate is elegant and refined but punchy, with cherry, violet, and orange blossom on a very floral finish; vaguely reminiscent of kirshwasser
- 41.5% ABV
It takes 33 kg (nearly 73 lbs) of rowanberries to produce a single liter of Hans Reisetbauer Rowanberry Eau-de-Vie. Also known as Mountain Ash, this classic Austrian eau-de-vie happens to be Hans’ favorite expression out of his entire range of eaux-de-vie!
