A stunning translucent ruby color, the 2021 Pinot Noir Patricia wafts up from the glass with a pretty blend of dusty rose, cedar shavings and dried strawberries. This is lifted and refined, with cooling acidity and plush textures offset by a core of tart red berry fruits. Savory spice hints form toward the close. Graceful to the very end, the 2021 tapers off gently, tannic and long, leaving sour cranberry and licorice traces to linger. The Patricia is already quite stunning yet has the balance for a steady evolution over the next four to six years.

Fresh and balanced, this light- to medium-bodied red boasts roasted plum and raspberry fruit flavors underscored by a nice vein of minerality, with smoke and wet stone accents, plus fragrant mulling spice and orange peel notes. Drink now through 2028. 8,300 cases made, 956 cases imported.

The Girlan 2021 Alto Adige Pinot Noir Patricia is a bit closed initially, with simple cranberry, grenadine and wild berry aromas. The mouthfeel is lean, and within a few moments, it tends to offer dried aromas with almond biscuit and preserved orange peel. This vintage delivers moderate freshness. Production is 100,000 bottles.
