The Gewürztraminer IGT “Upupa Orange” 2022 from Weingut Abraham is a single‑varietal Gewürztraminer styled as an orange wine. The name “Upupa” refers to the winery’s signature label. Grapes are sourced from sun-exposed vineyards near Eppan at around 500 m elevation, planted on mineral soils of quartz porphyry, dolomite and moraine. After a late harvest including about 10% dried grapes, a portion of the must ferments on the skins. The wine then ages for about 15 months in used 500‑liter oak barrels.
