Description
This is a perennially striking expression of one of Barolo’s most esteemed crus, showcasing elegance, precision, and power. The wine opens with an aromatic bouquet of crushed rose petals, dried cherries, and fresh raspberries with notes of fennel, sweet herbs, and a delicate touch of spice. On the palate, it is refined and focused with a silky texture and finely knit tannins that support layers of red currant, blood orange zest, and a minerality that reflects the vineyard’s sandy soils. Lifted acidity and graceful structure delineate remarkable excellent aging potential, though it already offers clarity and finesse in its youth. A natural pairing would be braised veal or wild mushroom risotto or delicate truffle dishes that complement its aromatic complexity and supple structure.
Monvigliero hill is historically recognized as the “grand cru” of Verduno and one of the most representative of the entire Barolo area. These plantings are over 35 years old and are situated at an altitude of about 320 metres, facing south. It produces an profound but elegant wine, distinguished by aromatic complexity and depth of flavor.
