Sensory :
The 2023 ‘Il Vispo’ opens with fresh, exuberant aromas of wild cherries, violets, and a hint of crushed herbs. On the palate, it dances with red berry brightness and a touch of savory spice, framed by supple tannins and a refreshing acidity that gives the wine its signature vivacity. Medium-bodied and smooth, it finishes clean and persistent, leaving notes of red currant and delicate minerality that echo the stony soils of its hillside vineyards.

Winemaker’s Background:
Fattoria La Magia is a historic estate set along an ancient Roman road in Montalcino, a site so enchanting that the Schwarz family decided to make it their home over forty years ago. The name “La Màgia”, accented on the first “a”, recalls its roots in the word “magione,” meaning a resting place for travelers. Over time, it has come to embody its more romantic connotation: “magic.” Today, under the direction of winemaker Fabian Schwarz, the estate continues to craft elegant, terroir-driven wines that capture both the history and the wonder of this sacred Tuscan landscape.
Serving Suggestions:
Serve at 16–18°C to highlight its bright fruit and delicate spice notes. Perfect alongside Tuscan favorites such as pappardelle with wild boar ragù, grilled lamb chops, or aged pecorino. It also shines when enjoyed slightly chilled on a warm afternoon with charcuterie and friends, a true reflection of Italian conviviality.
Playful yet refined, the 2023 Fattoria La Magia ‘Il Vispo’ Sangiovese Toscana IGT embodies the youthful side of Montalcino, a spirited expression of place, family, and the timeless joy of Sangiovese.
