The Col de Réy Cuvée IGT 2020 from the Laimburg State Winery is an impressive red blend that showcases the diversity and quality of South Tyrolean winemaking. In the glass, it reveals a deep purplish red with violet highlights. The bouquet is rich with ripe aromas of plum and blackcurrant, layered with notes of rum-soaked fruit and tobacco. On the palate, it is full-bodied with firm tannins and a long, earthy finish. This cuvée is composed of 50% Lagrein, 25% Petit Verdot, and 25% Tannat. Lagrein, an indigenous South Tyrolean grape, gives the wine its dark hue and intense fruit character. Petit Verdot and Tannat add structure, complexity, and spicy nuances. The wine is aged for 20 months in small oak barrels, enhancing its depth and elegance.
