The Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG Castello di Bibbione 2019 by Castelli del Grevepesa impresses with its intense ruby red color and its lively scent of ripe fruit and a hint of vanilla. On the palate, this wine is full-bodied, deep and velvety, with soft tannins and
a long-lasting finish.
This exquisite wine consists of 95% Sangiovese and 5% Merlot. Sangiovese is known for its strong acidity and aromas of red berries, cherries and violets. Merlot gives the wine extra softness and richness, which makes it particularly harmonious.
A special characteristic of this wine is its origin from the Chianti Classico area, especially from Castello di Bibbione, which lies on calcareous soils with lots of stones and pebbles. These unique soils contribute to the complexity and minerality of the wine.
The term “Riserva” means that this wine has aged longer than a normal Chianti Classico. Castello di Bibbione Riserva matures for 18 months in large Slavonian oak barrels and 12 months in barriques, followed by a further aging period of at least three months in bottle. This extended aging makes the wine more deep and complex.
