Description

Château Duhart-Milon 2007 – The Quiet Elegance of Pauillac

Often seen in the refined shadow of its illustrious neighbor, Lafite Rothschild, Château Duhart-Milon, classified 4th Growth in the 1855 classification, is a benchmark for discreet sophistication and balance in the Pauillac appellation. Owned by the Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite), the estate benefits from deep gravel soils over limestone subsoil and is planted mainly with Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot for roundness.

The 2007 vintage, shaped by a cool, irregular growing season, required careful vineyard management and precise harvesting. Thanks to the expertise of the estate’s team, Duhart-Milon succeeded in producing a wine that is refined, approachable, and well-balanced.

The color is a deep garnet with ruby highlights. The nose offers fresh red fruit aromas (cherry, raspberry), alongside cedar, graphite, blond tobacco, and delicate oak-spice notes. On the palate, the wine is smooth on entry, with a silky mid-palate, fine tannins, and refreshing acidity. The finish is clean, straight, and subtly persistent, with a touch of Pauillac minerality.

Château Duhart-Milon 2007 is a charming, early-drinking Pauillac — less austere than in great vintages, but beautifully crafted and ready to enjoy. It pairs elegantly with grilled meats, roast poultry, or gentle stews such as veal marengo.
