The Nama Chardonnay DOC 2021 from Nals Margreid Winery is a white wine of great character, showcasing the elegance and complexity of South Tyrol’s unique terroir. The Chardonnay vines, aged between 30 and 40 years, thrive on limestone soils in some of the region’s finest vineyard sites. The grapes are handpicked and gently processed.Following whole-cluster pressing, the must undergoes natural sedimentation. Fermentation and maturation take place over 18 months in small oak barrels, followed by 9 months in stainless steel tanks and a further year of bottle aging. In the glass, Nama appears a clear, bright straw yellow. Its bouquet reveals layers of ripe apple, peach, delicate floral notes, vanilla, and toasted almonds. On the palate, it’s creamy yet vibrant, with lively acidity, tropical fruit flavors, and a refined mineral edge. With just 2,000 bottles produced, this Chardonnay is a true rarity—complex, age-worthy, and ideal for refined occasions.
