Description

The Capezzana Vin Santo di Carmignano Riserva DOCG 2017 is a luscious Tuscan dessert wine made from predominantly Trebbiano with a smaller portion of San Colombano grapes, dried slowly and aged for years in traditional small wood barrels to develop remarkable depth and complexity. In the glass it shows an intense amber-gold color, with an aromatic bouquet of dried and candied apricot, orange peel, fig and honeyed florals, while the palate delivers a rich yet balanced sweetness with opulent fruit and a long, lingering finish of candied fruit and gentle spice. This Vin Santo pairs beautifully with Tuscan almond biscotti or cantucci, rich blue cheeses, and sweet pastries like panettone, and also works wonderfully as a contemplative after-dinner sipper on its own.
