The Cabernet IGT Löwengang Historic Mixed Set BIO – 2020 by Alois Lageder is an exceptional wine that impressively showcases the tradition and terroir of South Tyrol. This wine, which consists of a blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Carménère, is grown according to biodynamic principles and is certified organic
.
The Löwengang Historical Mixed Set is deep cherry red. The bouquet is intense and complex, with notes of raspberries and blackberries, accompanied by smoky and spicy accents. On the palate, it is powerful and harmonious, with a precise and elegant body, silky tannins and a long,
persistent finish.
The special feature of this wine lies in its production and origin. The grapes come from some of the oldest vineyards in South Tyrol, which are located around the Löwengang winery in Margreid. Some of the vines are over 140 years old, which gives the wine a particular depth and complexity. The name “Historic Mixed Set” refers to the traditional method of growing and processing different grape varieties together, which is known as a “mixed set” in German-speaking countries.
