Sensory :

Deep ruby with a lively mousse, Balotta opens with rich black cherry and blackberry aromas layered with subtle herbal tones and earthy spice. The palate is fresh and energetic, balancing ripe dark fruit with gentle tannins and vibrant acidity. Dry to off-dry in style, it delivers structure and savory complexity, finishing with notes of crushed berries, wild herbs, and a refreshing lift that invites another sip. The 2024 vintage highlights the purity of fruit and balanced texture, offering both immediacy and depth.

Winemaker’s Background:

Gregorio Brigo grew up farming north of Modena, working alongside his father and grandfather while absorbing the culture of authentic Lambrusco. After years as an agronomist and vineyard consultant, he launched Brigo Vini in 2021, choosing to vinify his own grapes rather than sell to large cooperatives. His wines are crafted with minimal intervention to reflect the land’s true character—celebratory, convivial, and rooted in tradition. “Balotta” means chatting with friends, a nod to the communal spirit that defines both the region and the wine.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve well-chilled at 45–50°F. Ideal alongside classic Italian fare such as prosciutto, Parmigiano Reggiano, pizza, and pasta with ragù. It also shines with BBQ, grilled sausages, burgers, and even bold Mexican cuisine.
