The Bianco Superiore DOC Lefkòs 2018 from Cenatiempo is an outstanding white wine from the Campania region, more specifically from the island of Ischia. This wine is made from a blend of 40% Biancolella, 45% Forastera and 15% other local grape varieties. Biancolella brings aromas of stone fruit and roundness, while Forastera provides bright minerality and freshness.
Lefkòs 2018 shows a pale straw yellow in the glass. On the nose, tempting aromas of herbs, wet stones, apples and white peaches develop. On the palate, the wine is bright and fresh with a great fruit-acid balance and a long, lively finish.
The climate on Ischia is ideal for viticulture. The island enjoys mild temperatures, cooling sea breezes and abundant sunshine, which, together with the volcanic soils, contribute to the development of wines with exceptional freshness and minerality. These conditions promote optimal ripening of the grapes and give the wines their characteristic vivacity and complexity.
