Cascina Moccagatta, Via Rabaya 2, 12050 Barbaresco (CN), IT

The Barbaresco DOCG Bric Balin 2022 from Moccagatta is an elegant and powerful wine made exclusively from the Nebbiolo grape. Nebbiolo is known for its complexity and ability to age, with aromas that often include roses, tar, and red fruits. This wine is grown on chalky blue marl soils, which contributes to the complexity and minerality of the wine.

The color of Barbaresco Bric Balin is a deep ruby red that shines elegantly in the glass. The scent is intense and complex, characterized by red berries, plum peels, crushed herbs and a touch of spices such as cinnamon and cloves, accompanied by tobacco, leather and earthy notes. The taste is full-bodied and velvety, with a smooth and elegant texture. On the palate, there are notes of red fruits, spices and a touch of vanilla, supported by firm and well-structured tannins, which offer a long and persistent finish.

The special feature of this wine lies in its aging: it is aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, 40% of which are new. This gives the wine extra depth and complexity without masking the typical Nebbiolo aromas. The cultivation system of the vines is the Guyot system, which enables precise control over the quality of the grapes.
