The Barbaresco DOCG Basarin 2021 from Moccagatta is an outstanding wine made from the Nebbiolo grape, which is known for its complex aromas and ability to age. The color of this wine is an intense garnet red. The scent develops warm notes of cherry and plum, complemented by light spicy nuances such as cinnamon and cloves. The taste is broad and rich, with elegant tannins and a long, harmonious finish. The aromas of red fruits and the balsamic and spicy nuances characterize the taste experience.
This wine comes from the Basarin vineyard in the municipality of Neive, a renowned location in the Barbaresco area. The special feature of this wine lies in the sandy Sant’Agata marl soils, which give it elegance and balance. The Mediterranean climate, with warm summers and cold winters, offers ideal conditions for the Nebbiolo grape. The vineyards are located at an altitude of 250-280 meters and face south, which ensures optimal sunlight and perfect ripening of the grapes.
This wine is characterized by its ability to be enjoyed both young and stored for years, which further develops its complex aromas. Barbaresco Basarin is aged in French oak barrels for 18 months and in bottle for at least nine months, giving it additional depth and complexity.
