Aromas of juniper, lavender, kirsch and iron mark this lean, densely built red. Shows a core of sweet, ripe fruit, but the structure is showing today as this winds down on the long, licorice-, tar- and underbrush-tinged finish. Best from 2022 through 2035. 200 cases made, 50 cases imported.

Aromas of pipe tobacco, cedar and coconut lead the nose. The assertive palate offers sour cherry, mocha and clove alongside taut, astringent tannins. Drink after 2022.
