Description
1970 DRC Romanee Conti – Burghound – Tasting note: (with thanks to Rob Rosania). I was shocked at how much better this was than the same wine in magnum format (see herein) as it was not only remarkably youthful but possessed terrific mid-palate fat and density with the classic restrained spiciness and dried rose petal nose and striking length as well as the sheer RC class. A stunning effort for the vintage and this dwarfs the 750 ml and magnum format quality at this point in the wine’s evolution. Tasted: Mar 01, 2008
